Pierson’s oil paintings capture the ephemeral moment and fragmented memories, creating a dreamlike place suspended in time, contrasting to memory’s fleeting nature. The figuration mostly features unidentified couples, romantic or familial, exploring strong emotions and relationships between them, the artist, and the viewer. Hints of canvas and early layers of paint seep through the painted image, depicting the fragility of memory and life.
